Indentifying and Protecting Wildlife Corridors

Bobcats still active

Here is photo of a bobcat in a residential area just a mile from I-25. These wild cats have been active in the area for the past year and half. Closely tied to the rabbit population, their main prey, the bobcats are good generalists, ranging from the river valley up through all the life zones, limited only by heavy snows at the highest elevations. Bobcats are one of the “focal species” we monitor here at Pathways, finding their beautiful tracks is always fun to photograph, but these cats are not shy and are often photographed in broad daylight near people’s homes.
